THIS YEAR'S SONG

He must increase, but I must decrease,

What a sobering thought!

The Son of God,

Came into the world,

Sinners like me He sought!

On the cross,

He earned the right,

to govern this life of mine.

But the world cries out,

“It’s not Jesus we see,

As long as your pride shines bright!”

He must increase, but I must decrease,

What a troublesome task!

But, the more I yield, the more He reigns,

And, that’s what it’s all about!

Oh the more I yield, the more He reigns,

And that’s what it’s all about!

2 Corinthians 11:3

But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.

What is the goal of this Men’s Retreat?

A.      That the men of Ireland would get the courage to do three things:

1.        Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ for salvation from hell

2.        Surrender their lives over to Jesus Christ for Christian service – whatever God would call them to do

3.        Take a stand in this wicked world as Christian Men, not wimps, reclaiming their families, their churches, and their communities for God

B.       That Christian men here in Ireland would have a time of concentrated Christian fellowship and preaching about issues we all need dealt with

Why Study John the Baptist?

A.      He is the second most important figure in the New Testament, next to Jesus Christ

1.        Everything that the Apostle Paul preached about Jesus was built upon the work of John the Baptist in the hearts of the people

2.        John was not a normal, run-of the-mill kind of guy: He was the promised forerunner of the Messiah

3.        Everything that John did, will be done again, just before the Second Coming of Jesus Christ

4.        Without John the Baptist, the people would never have received Jesus Christ at all

B.       He is one of the most neglected figures studied in the Bible

1.        Over-looked because his ministry was so short – 6-12 months

2.        Yet his ministry was so short because it was so successful

3.        Maybe because

C.       This world needs a lot of John the Baptists today before more people will begin to get saved!
