How the World Can Hear God's Words

I. Introduction (Romans 10:13-17)

“For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!”

A. The World Needs to Hear God’s Words

  1. Lost people are everywhere
  2. They need the Gospel
  3. They can’t be saved without hearing

B. The Chain of Salvation

  1. Calling - they must call on the Lord
  2. Believing - they must believe in Him
  3. Hearing - they must hear about Him
  4. Preaching - someone must preach
  5. Sending - preachers must be sent

II. The Problem

A. People Cannot Call on Someone They Don’t Know

  1. They’ve never heard His name
  2. They don’t know what He’s done
  3. They can’t believe in a stranger

B. They Cannot Believe What They Haven’t Heard

  1. Faith comes by hearing
  2. Hearing by the word of God
  3. No Word = No Faith

C. They Cannot Hear Without a Preacher

  1. Someone must tell them
  2. The message must be delivered
  3. This is where we come in

III. The Solution

A. Preachers Must Be Sent

  1. Missionaries to the nations
  2. Witnesses in our communities
  3. Every believer sharing their faith

B. The Beautiful Feet

  1. Those who bring good news
  2. Those who preach peace
  3. Those who share the Gospel

C. Faith Comes by Hearing

“So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” (Romans 10:17)

  1. The Word must be spoken
  2. People must hear it
  3. Faith is the result

IV. Our Responsibility

A. Support Those Who Go

  1. Pray for missionaries
  2. Give financially
  3. Encourage them

B. Go When Called

  1. Be available
  2. Be willing
  3. Be ready

C. Share Where You Are

  1. Your neighbors need to hear
  2. Your coworkers need to hear
  3. Your family needs to hear

V. The Urgency

A. People Are Dying Without Christ

  1. Every day
  2. Without hope
  3. Facing eternity

B. Time Is Short

  1. Jesus is coming
  2. Opportunities pass
  3. Now is the day of salvation

Conclusion

How will the world hear? Through us. Through you. Open your mouth. Share the Gospel. You are the beautiful feet that bring good news.
