I.       Introduction (Proverbs 11:30)

A.     We all know how to fight, but we rarely pick up our spiritual weaponry, given to us by God, and fight the GOOD fight – the fight for souls!

B.     THE WINNING of individuals by individuals in personal conversation is the main way to win souls.

C.     He that WINNETH souls is wise! (Prov 11:30) Reconciling sinful man to an all holy God (2Cor 5:18-20)

II.    Last week: We learned that our battle is a sure win! It’s the only way to fix a society (Prov 14:34)

III. Part Two – So What Do We Do to Win Souls?

A.     First, Pray and ask God to fill you with Himself

1.      Get God’s heartbeat, and His burden for souls. Ask Him to break your heart over souls lost and going to hell!

2.      Ask God  to help you only speak what HE would say if He was doing the talking (2Cor 3:5,6)!

B.     Then, Go into All the World

1.      Go wherever a person is (Mark 16:15; Matthew 28:19)

a.       Houses and huts

b.      Highways and hedges

c.       The only place a person cannot speak about Christ is on the job - everywhere else we should lift up the honour and praise of God, and try and draw people to a decision about salvation

2.      Three Ways to Go:

a.       Go naturally – this is a natural act for a Christian, like being in love, like talking about sports, or your job! Christianity spreads only by talking about Jesus!!!

b.      Go particularly – target people who the Lord directs you to

c.       Go regularly – the devil will fill up your schedule if you do not fill it up first!

3.      Right Approach:

a.       Be courteous – remember the Golden Rule

b.      Don’t set out to embarrass people

c.       Get people talking – use your imagination to get a person thinking

d.      Have your Bible ready – be ready to open it, and show people the word of God!

e.       Give them a Gospel leaflet and personally invite them to be your guest at church this Sunday

f.       Ask them just one question - If you died tonight, where would you go?

C.     Teach on the Cross. Use the Cross (1Cor 1:17,18). These are all truths you must know inside and out!

1.      Teach Them Their Direction – we are all going our own way

a.       We are sinners (Romans 3:10,23) - We all break God’s laws. Some a lot, some a little

b.      All Our Religious Efforts are Worthless (Rom 10:1-3; Philp 3:3-9) – like trying to flap your arms when falling out of a tree! Wasted effort!

1)      God does not accept this world’s religions - only His Son

2)      Jesus said only HE, not a church, or a creed can save a soul!

c.       There is a Penalty for Sin – Two Deaths (Romans 6:23; Isa 59:2; John 3:18,36)

1)      Physical death – sin kills people. Smoking, fornication, adultery, pornography, anger, bitterness, covetousness, etc

2)      Eternal death - Hell for eternity, and we deserve it

d.      If you do nothing, you will certainly end up in hell – just neglect getting born again and end up with the devil for ever (Heb 2:3)!

2.      Teach Them That Jesus Christ is headed a different Way – cuts across our path. Doesn’t feel right, or make sense because He goes against our “grain”

a.       He Came our way, 2,000 years ago. He healed, helped, touched, blessed

b.      And we, as a world, rejected Him (John 1:10-12) – murdered the Son of God!

c.       But He wasn’t defeated – Yes He died, but He rose again, and He sits now in heaven as King of kings, And He wants everyone to live forever and join Him (2Peter 3:9)

d.      The question is, How to join Him? Does he just let ANYBODY in? No!

1)      Not if they have the least sin in them

2)      Not if they have not been converted – changed from the inside out

3)      Not if they have not been born again (John 3:3)

3.      Teach Them the Only Remedy is to Change their Direction – not a Resolution, but Repentance!

a.       They must have a Repentant Attitude towards God – very sorry! The only kind of heart God notices (Rom 2:4)

1)      Whatever sins are in your life, you must want to be free from them

2)      Repentance says, “Here God, I’m letting go of this. Please take it away” (Psalm 103:12)

b.      They must have Faith in Jesus Christ ALONE (Romans 10:9-13; John 6:35) – not in your good works, not in your religious beliefs, not in your prayers, or your pedigree

3)      It was HE who died – not Mary, or your priest, or your grandmother

4)      It was HE who rose again

5)      He offers eternal life (Rev 3:20)

c.       They MUST ask God to save them (use that word) - (Romans 10:13).

1)      Save them from hell – that’s a serious thing to be saved FROM

2)      Save them from sin – God hates sin, just like we do! We hate it when people lie to us, and rob us, and hurt us, and ignore us!

3)      Make them His child – be born again (John 3:3,7). God cannot send His child to a devil’s hell

d.      They must be willing to follow Jesus now, obeying Him and letting Him lead, all the way to heaven – if you are not willing to follow Jesus (live like he says to live), then you are not serious about getting born again

1)      It is the same as getting married – if you are not willing to leave the old girlfriends, and make her the priority, then drop dead

2)      It is the same as getting a job – wear what they say wear, do what the boss says do – not your own thing

3)      This is not a DIY kind of religion! It is Christianity

4.      Now would be a good time to use your Testimony

D.     Prod Those Who Are Unconcerned (Jude 1:22,23)

1.      Talk with authority – don’t let anyone think they have the upper hand; you have God’s word on eternity. In one whole area, everyone who was commanded to get saved, did! (Acts 14:38)

2.      Warn them (Col 1:28; Ezek 33:7-9; Acts 20:26,27)

3.      Plead with them – beg them to look at what the Bible says

4.      Tell them you will be praying for their conversion!
