A. Christians have always had trouble in life
B. Sometimes Christians get “in trouble” because of following Christ - called “persecution”
C. But most “Christians” get into trouble because of their own doings!
II. Message - Why Most Christians Have Trouble (James 4:1-15)
A. Christians Have Trouble Because “We Ask Not” (4:2) - We have little or no Prayer Time!
B. Christians Have Trouble Because, When We Do Ask, We Ask Amiss (4:3) - We seem to only have our own selfish desires in mind when we pray - Nothing Eternal in view
C. Christians Have Trouble Because We Love this World More than We Love God (4:4,5) - spiritual ADULTERY (1 John 2:15,16) - No commitment to Christ!
D. Christians Have Trouble Because We Are Far Too Proud (4:6,7) - No Yearning/Hungering for God - No soft hearts anymore!
E. Christians Have Trouble Because We Are Not Serious About Living For God (4:7-10) - No fear of God!
F. Christians Have Trouble Because We Have Problems Putting Up With One Another (4:11,12) - No grace toward each other!
G. Christians Have Trouble Because We Are Not Interested in God’s Will Over Our Own (4:13-15)
