THUR

FAILURES and being Suspicious

1Cor 10:13

This morning we want to candidly talk about what struggles everyone is having as they try and live differently than the world, why they may be having those struggles, and how to overcome those struggles. Scriptures to help include: 1Cor 10:1-14

A lesson for the 8-12 year olds will be taught by Terri Snode teaching the events of the twelve spies and how the ten spies’ lack of faith affected the faith of the whole nation! Instead of going on and conquering the Promised Land (which they were so close to), they were punished by God, and had to go around in circles in the desert until they died

The older kids will continue with learning about maps and the Ten Commandments, and applying the lesson to how to read God’s word for directions. They will need to work on summarizing the Ten Commandments into two or three word phrases for each commandment

A message will be preached by Greg Durham teaching the basic truths of the twelve spies and their failure to believe God

A final message will be preached by Craig Ledbetter challenging the kids to believe God instead of what you see and how you feel, and what others say!!!

FRI

FAITH and being Sure

Following God’s Will

Heb 12:1,2

This morning we want the kids to consider God’s will. The children of Israel knew that God has a place for them that He called the Promised Land. That was God’s will for them – to live there, and not be slaves, and not even to stay in the wilderness, but to get to the place where they were defeating every enemy that sought to destroy them. The discussion needs to centre around where each of the kids are: still in slavery? In the wilderness, and trying to go back to the world? Still in the wilderness but at least trying to get the victory over sins? Or, are they in the middle of God’s will? Also, talk about how to get to the next stage in their life – i.e. like out of slavery to sin, and out of the wilderness, etc. Scriptures to use include Luke 9:57-62 and Heb 12:1,2

A lesson teaching for the 8-12 year olds will describe the events of the dying off of the Israelites, and the new generation coming of age, and then being led into the promised Land by Joshua and Caleb will be taught by Ruth O’Sullivan

The older kids will have free time

A message will be preached by Travis Snode teaching the truths of the victorious Christian life

A final message will be preached by Declan Flanagan challenging the kids to be like Joshua and Caleb, and get into the Promised Land
