Now That You Are a Christian...

The Bible says, “If any man be in Christ, he is a NEW creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.”   2nd Corinthians 5:17

1. Get you a Bible for your very own!  Read it everyday!  Start in the Book of St. Matthew in the New Testament, and read at least one chapter every morning before you start your day! Meditate on what you read throughout the day. The Bible says, “O how love I thy law! it is my meditation all the day.     Psalm 119:97

2. Begin to Pray to your Heavenly Father every day!  Spend a few minutes in the morning, and in the evening asking for help and grace, and thank the LORD for His blessings!  Talk to Him like you would to your very best friend, because that is what He is!  Again, the Bible tells us that, "The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much!"     James 5:16

3. Get Baptized!  This is not so that you can become a Christian, but rather, BECAUSE you ARE a Christian who wants to obey our Lord's commandments! This one act will so clearly show the world that you serve a new Master, the LORD Jesus Christ! "Then they that gladly received his word were baptized."       Acts 2:41

4. Join with a good Bible believing, and Bible preaching church!  You need to be with other Christians for fellowship, and you need a pastor who will care for you and help you grow spiritually.  God’s desire is that we grow strong so that we can serve Him best! God's word says that we are to be "not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together."     Hebrews 10:25

5. Tell someone that you are a Christian now!  A true Christian will want to tell someone that they are no longer the same person, but that the Lord Jesus Christ has forgiven them of ALL their sins and made them a new person, so that they too can become a Christian! The Apostle Paul said, "I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believeth!" Romans 1:16
